THE ART OF MATT LOMBARD @ RETHYMNO ROCKS! #6

Matt Lombard is a contemporary photographer and digital artist exploring the extremes of human nature through haunting, emotionally charged imagery. Rooted in personal experience, including a deeply affecting dementia series, his work transforms grief into visual form, resonating across cultures while challenging perceptions of darkness, memory, and the boundaries between beauty and suffering.

Having forged an organic bond with the music scene, Matt Lombard already boasts iconic collaborations with leading acts of the extreme and alternative sound, including Falling In Reverse, Cradle of Filth, Front Line Assembly, Combichrist, Carpenter Brut, Orbit Culture, PIG, and Misery Index.

Visitors and festival fans will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the artist’s dark universe for the very first time, as Matt Lombard presents his first official exhibition in Greece, hosted by Rethymno Rocks! Festival #6. Simultaneously, the exhibition will feature an exclusive, site-specific musical score composed by iNsCissorS to enhance the visitor’s visual experience, which will also be made available as a physical CD release. 

The exhibition will run from August 24th to August 30th within the imposing atmosphere of the Artillery Building of the Fortezza.The public is welcome to wander freely through his works daily from 10:00–14:00 and 18:00–20:00. On concert days, as music resonates through the fortress, the exhibition space will remain open all day long, welcoming visitors until midnight. Admission is free.
