AUTOMATON TO AWAKEN LEGENDARY “TALOS” ON THURSDAY 28 AUGUST!

Rethymno Rocks! Festival #5 is proud to have on board one of the most unique-sounding bands of the Greek scene on Thursday 28 August! AUTOMATON is a Psychedelic Doom/Post-Black band formed in 2012 in Athens,Greece, with their members deeply rooted in the island of Crete. They blend down-tuned riffs, minimalistic patterns, psychedelia and Black Metal elements into their own distinctively Heavy style. They have released two albums with their music  being characterised as dark and intense, with a cinematic quality and a relentless groove. Their most celebrated album to date entitled “Talos” stands out for its extraordinary blend of Doom, Drone and Black Metal, pushing the boundaries of the genre by seamlessly merging its elements. Notably, the album features a collaboration with the renowned Cretan musician Psarantonis, further solidifying its significance within the Greek music scene. AUTOMATON has participated in numerous shows and festivals around Greece, with their most recent notable appearance being at the celebrated Inferno Metal Fest 2024 in Norway.
